Growing Healthier Turfgrass on Athletic Fields  (Bowling Green State GC Results)

Our growth stimulants are used to augment a normal fertilizer program to grow healthier grass that can withstand the stress seen on an athletic field. Nature’s NOG will optimize the presentation of basic minerals so that the plants get more benefit from less fertilizer. Both products, liquid and granular, can be safely used because they are non-toxic organic materials that do not contain bacteria and are odorless.

Economics
A maintenance program that features Nature’s NOG will reduce expenditures on fertilizer, fungicide, insecticide and water. In time, your turfgrass will become healthier and become a great surface for “play.” You will like the results.

Maintenance On Existing Fields

Broadcast Nature’s NOG Granular at 300-lb/acre late in the spring and then in October. The humate particles are coated with Nature’s NOG and should be watered to dissolve the coating and make the seaweed extract available to the grass. The fortified humate portion of the pellet will release its value into the soil for about six-months.
Spray Nature’s NOG at 88-oz/acre in late May, mid summer and mid fall.

Superintendents with an established spray program can incorporate Nature’s NOG as a regular part of their fertilizer and fungicide applications at 2-oz/1000 sq.ft. on a 30-day cycle. A good system is to spray 1-oz/1000 sq.ft. every 14-days throughout the season until mid-Dec. and resume the spray program a week before Spring-startup.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not overuse the product. We recommend spraying when the temperature is less than 75 F. and to avoid treating when rain is expected or when the grass is wet with dew. The leaf will absorb its full-intake of nutrients in about four hours. Shake the container before mixing.

Construction Of New Fields

SAND BASE - Some new fields are being constructed like golf course greens, with a sand-base for quick drainage. Nature’s NOG Granular should be added to give the sand a greater cationic exchange capacity and an organic content that supports microbial activity. The seaweed extract coating will dissolve and be immediately available to stimulate germination and root growth and the humate granular will release nutrition for about six-months.

We recommend specifying a 5% addition of Nature’s NOG Granular in the sand-mix. However, if this is not possible, then spreading 20-pounds of product on the surface before laying sod or seeding will be extremely beneficial.

SOIL BASE - Spread 20-pounds of Nature’s NOG Granular on the surface before laying sod or seeding will be extremely beneficial.

Spray the seed or the sprigs with Nature’s NOG at 2-oz/1000 sq.ft. seven to ten days after planting.

Overseeding
Broadcast 15-lb/1000 sq.ft. of Nature’s NOG Granular immediately before seeding.

Spray Nature’s NOG at 2-oz/1000 sq.ft. in seven to ten days after seeding.

Golf Courses

The use of Nature's NOG and Nature's NOG Granular has been prominent on golf courses in the Southeast Region of the US.

The benefits that have been experienced are compelling:

Seaweed extract and Humate are natural ingredients and are safe on the environment and personnel

Stimulates depth and mass of root development in greens

Improves resistance to disease and nematodes

Speeds grow-back and repair to damaged surfaces

More resistance to the stress of heavy usage on greens

Improves resistance to weather conditions

Improves fungicide performance

Raises Cationic Exchange Capacity

Speeds germination and grow-in
